Colleen formerly pursued a career in teaching Middle School Language Arts and Special Education for five years prior to her transition into Pilates. She received her Bachelors Degree in English Literature from Ramapo College and her Masters Degree in Education from Montclair State University. Her professional pedagogical background gives her the tools to communicate and relay knowledge effectively and passionately through teaching. Colleen was instantly hooked after her first Pilates class by how quickly it helped her connect with movement in a new way, bringing a sense of body awareness that was transferable to her everyday life. Loving the results she felt from attending Pilates classes, she went on to pursue her certification and new career.
Colleen received her Comprehensive Pilates Certification through the distinguished Kane School of Core Integration in New York City, training under experts Kelly Kane and Matt McCulloch. Her intense training incorporated detailed anatomy and biomechanics in order to work with a wide array of clients from those with special populations and various injuries/pathologies, to those with general fitness goals. Colleen strives to help each individual get the most out of every session through targeted programming.
Driven by her distinctive motivation to help others, Colleen’s drive to support her clients in achieving their fitness and overall wellness goals through the influential practice of Pilates is ten fold. Colleen has been bettering the health of Kure clients since July 2015.
