Krysta has been practicing and studying Pilates for over 13 years while teaching Pilates for 10 years in New York City and Hoboken, NJ. As a lifetime athlete, Krysta competed at the national and Division I Collegiate level in multiple sports. After years of physical stress at exceptional high levels of competition, Pilates helped to rebuild Krysta’s strength, flexibility, muscle stamina, alignment, and overall functionality.
Krysta’s professional Pilates certifications include 600+ hours of Pilates Apparatus and Mat training at New York’s prestigious Kane School of Core Integration. She trained under founder Kelly Kane and owner/director Matt McCulloch, previous director of Pilates on Fifth. Krysta recently worked at Erika Bloom Pilates Plus in Manhattan, engaging in additional training from Erika Bloom herself. In 2013, Krysta was the sole scholarship recipient to attend The FAMI Workshop (Functional Anatomy of Movement and Injury) at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She also holds certifications from the Pilates Method Alliance and the Pilates Institute of America, training under Frankie Puglisi. In addition to Pilates, Krysta is a certified personal trainer, cardiovascular coach, swim instructor, kickboxing instructor, and children’s/adolescent yoga instructor. With a myriad of professional and personal experience in the industry, Krysta is qualified to bring diverse, individualistic training from all realms of fitness.
Krysta holds a Masters Degree in Physical Education with Kappa Delta Pi honors and an Undergraduate Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. Prior to teaching Pilates, Krysta was a physical education and health teacher for 6 years designing curriculum’s for both the National Institute of Health and the Middle States for Higher Education. Her varied school experience gives Krysta numerous pedagogical approaches and teaching methods to reach clients of all backgrounds. Krysta has worked with clients as young as 9 and into their 90s, including the healthy, injured, pre/post natal, athletes, and celebrities.
Throughout her life, Krysta has overcome the ramifications of various injuries and major surgeries to greaten her “whole” self. In addition, she manages two rare disorders, Chiari Malformation and Ehler- Danlos Syndrome (EDS), to which she uses to aid in the developmental programs of her clients. She is extremely passionate and dedicated to the balance, integrity and resurgence Pilates can bring to the body. Krysta will strive to Kure Hoboken through sophisticated movement one bone, ligament, and muscle at a time.
